Major Russian Attacks Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor was killed and three other people were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
